Old Crow, and All the Years Between

Crow's name came with a little humor and a plan for the future. As a German Shorthaired Pointer, a bird-inspired name seemed fitting. But his family also liked the idea that someday, when he was old and gray, they could call him “Old Crow,” after the bourbon. And what a gift it was that he stayed with them long enough to grow into that name (though, somehow, he was not very gray).

Crow had a tremendous appreciation for food and a female housemate who had an equally tremendous appreciation for him. Unfortunately, her affection wasn't always mutual. She adored Crow and wanted to be near him, while he occasionally had to remind her, rather loudly, that he preferred a little personal space. His objections never seemed to discourage her, though. She loved him just the same. ❤️

His family shared these words:

“Thank you for the years you gave us. We love you Crow”

For 16½ years, Crow was part of his family's life. There were countless ordinary days together, familiar routines, and little moments that became part of what made their home theirs.

After so many years together, Crow's absence will be felt in ways both big and small. His family has a lifetime of memories to hold onto, even as they face the days ahead without him.

Rest peacefully, Old Crow. Your family will miss you terribly, and that sweet girl who spent so much time trying to win your affection will surely be missing you, too. 🐾❤️
