Paco - Until They Met Again

Before I tell Paco’s story, I should mention that this one is especially close to my heart. Lisa was family to me, too.

Anyone who knew Lisa knew how much she meant to her family. She was the heart of so much that made their family special, and her love continues to be felt in countless ways each day. Since her unexpected passing, those who love her have held tightly to the memories they share and the small reminders that help keep her close.

One of those reminders was Paco.

Paco was never interested in being everyone’s friend. If you were a stranger, he was more than willing to let you know exactly what he thought of you. But for the people he loved, there was no question where his loyalty belonged. Beneath that feisty, stubborn exterior was a dog who was completely devoted to his family.

After losing Lisa, Paco became more than just a beloved companion. He was a connection to her. A keeper of memories. A familiar presence that carried reminders of her into each day. For a family still missing someone so deeply loved, that connection meant everything.

Paco may have been small, opinionated, and more than a little ornery at times, but he was deeply loved and will be deeply missed. It is hard to say goodbye to someone who has been such an important part of the family, especially when that goodbye also means letting go of another tangible connection to someone so dearly missed.

Looking through these photos brought a lot of smiles. They show Paco exactly as he was and tell the story of a dog who was deeply woven into the life of his family. There were too many special memories here to pick just a few favorites, so today I’m sharing them all.

I know that somewhere beyond our sight, Lisa was there waiting for her little sidekick, ready to welcome him home. 🪽❤️🪽
