Chompy - Tail Wagging Into Overdrive

Today we remember Chompy Doodle - deeply loved, endlessly vocal, wildly determined, and apparently fully convinced she could take on wildlife several times her size.

“She was the best friend I’ve had!! She was super smart and sometimes smarter than me, but she loved to chase down squirrels and run them up trees and she even chased a deer into the field one time at 30 pounds. Was always howling and wanting whatever food I had for a meal amd she usually got some of it. She loved to talk with her mom, Shelley, whenever she would come home from work and her tail would wag into overdrive every time she saw us. She was the epitome of unconditional love and we gave that right back to her until the end!!! RIH with Apollo, Chompy we love and miss you!! ❤️❤️”

The love people describe when they talk about dogs like Chompy is never quiet or small. It lives in routines, conversations at the door after work, shared meals that became slightly less shared than intended, and the sound of paws racing after squirrels with complete confidence and absolutely no realistic assessment of size difference.

Thank you for allowing us to help care for Chompy and be part of her final journey at home. 🩵🐾
