Gunner’s story began as a gift born from heartbreak - a new start after loss, and the kind of companion who quietly steadied a family. He wasn’t a dog who needed to be in your lap; he just wanted to be near, sharing space and comfort in his own easy way.
He loved being outside, keeping watch for crumbs or following his dad on shed-hunting trips - not for the chase, but for the time spent together. His joy came from being part of every simple moment: the hum of home, the warmth of belonging, the unspoken connection that only grows deeper with time.
He was gentle, loyal, and loved without needing to say much at all - a good dog in the truest sense who will be forever loved by his family.
From his family:
“Gunner came to us as a gift from a local breeder after our family experienced heartbreak after losing another puppy. Gunner wasn’t one to cuddle, but would sit by you outside, underneath the table to hopefully grab crumbs, and was quick to jump in your seat if you left the couch. While he never hunted a bird in his life, he did enjoy multiple antler shed hunting trips with his dad.”
