Harlee: Two Speeds, One Very Full Life

Harlee was there for a lot of life. She watched kids grow up, shared the house with dogs much bigger than she was, and became one of those familiar little constants that is almost impossible to imagine missing.

Her family shared:

“Harlee was a gift for our daughter Mikie when she was in 8th grade. They were both so ornery and into everything, quite literally 2 peas in a pod. Over almost 16 years, Harlee kept us all on our toes. Always wanting to be the alpha, but with German Shepherds around, sadly Harlee’s dream of leadership was never allowed although they indulged her most of the time. Harlee was always the life of the party if a ball was around. If anyone threw the ball once, it was guaranteed that your arm would get a work out until said ball was secretly hidden. Harlee had 2 speeds, on and off. If she was on, it was non stop until she crashed. Watching her slow down has been hard. She is so loved and will be greatly missed.”

So many years together leave a lot behind: family stories, inside jokes, old pictures, and countless ordinary moments that probably didn’t seem important at the time, but mean everything now. Harlee had a place in all of it, and that’s a pretty wonderful legacy for one little dog.

Rest easy, Harlee. You finally get to call the shots. ❤️
